Two people from two different worlds sharing one “Purpose”

Greg and I tied the knot in June 9, 2007. Our wedding was held at Messiah Lutheran Church down in Auburn WA, where my sister-in-law, Patty, is the head music directress. Every time Greg and I recall our wedding day, it makes us smile and remember how God brought us together. Our wedding was very simple but it turns out to be elegant.

We hired an excellent wedding consultant who helped us with everything which reduced stress in our part. While planning and preparing things for our wedding, Greg and I decided that instead of ordering a wedding invitation and program, we would create and make our own design. We did not know how hard and time consuming it would be, but our “labor of love” was well rewarded when we received admiring comments from our guests. They liked it a lot…My husband is very creative and talented. During that time I was mostly assisting him.

Another thing that we both enjoyed was our pre-wedding counseling with our officiating Pastor, Greg Kaurin. For me it is very ideal for a couple to have a pre-wedding counseling so that they will know what kind of relationship they get into, know each other differences and how to deal with it, proper communication with spouse, etc. Counseling really helps and it works for us.

One of the highlights in our wedding was our songs played “pro” musicians, guess who? All of Greg’s siblings performed. Douglas who is from Indiana, Becky from Kentucky and Patrice from Kent. Patty was also my Maid of Honor. Everybody was so amazed and was touched of all the songs and the instruments they played. They received recognition. My father in law was proud to say that he started the family tradition of music by playing a Ukulele.

Everybody loved our reception place, an Italian restaurant called Verrazanos . The guests enjoyed the foods a lot, the selections of wine we have and most of the entire warm and amorous ambiance. Greg and I were so thankful to God that He prepared everything so orderly. All of my in-laws attended and participated on the wedding. So sad, that my parents were not able to make it but on the other hand, I am also happy because they supported and included us in their prayers. We can say that our wedding is one of the best things or event in our lives that will always leave good memories to us and for all the people who’s been a part of it.

Each person has a calling and purpose in life. In Gods perfect time, He will reveal and show you the way in where you will receive all these things. For Greg and I, we are so grateful that God never forgot our hearts desires. In Gods own special way, Greg and I met. Having a long-distance relationship (at first) was hard, but on the other hand, it strengthened us and made us realize that we are made for each other. The friendship He bestowed on us has grown into love, courtship and ultimately marriage. God fulfilled His promise to us, as we united as husband and wife.

Couple’s motto: “For a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” Ecclesiastes 4:12

This song reminds me of Douglas Lins (brother-in-law). It is one of the songs he played in my wedding.

    Hi Li,

Wow! The images in the slides and your words tell it all. Hearing stories like Greg and yours, adds to my faith that the Lord will answer my prayers and the blessings will come in His time.

    Blessings to you both!
